We finished putting up our tree over the weekend--amazing to think we haven't had our tree up for over 4 years...now we definately have a reason. Look at Patrick's 1st Ornament that his Daddy bought....it was the first one to go on the tree.

Sunday night we attended Shawn's Holiday Party for his PD Shift--where was so cute---had Shawn and Patrick both wearing the same outfit----Dark Red Shirts and jeans...needless to say the other officers teased Shawn saying "do you always dress like your son"....he was so proud though. When we got home that evening, prior to Shawn having to jump into his "Blues", we managed to get some family photos taken in front of our tree. It was quite an adventure and pretty comical actually, b/c Shawn would spend several minutes getting the camera and poses just right...then when Shawn would set the timer and jump back with Patrick and I, he he heeee..Patrick would turn every time to look at daddy...check it out.....

We managed to get ONE good photo out of the bunch..after our trials...and will use it for our Christmas Cards. Yes--I will be sending out Christmas cards this year...Amazing what kind of obligations you get yourself into for being a new mom :)

Here's a day trip the Rath clan took in November to Squaw Creek National Wetland Reserve
http://www.squawcreek.org/
It's located in the North West corner of Missouri close to Nebraska. It's a wonderful place if you like water fowl--where in the winter it facilitates habitat for literally hundreds of thousands waterfowl migrants as well has Winter nesting for Bald Eagles. I learned about it in College as we went there on a field ornithological study. Amazing place to see if you are a bird watcher. I've been wanting Shawn to see the winter migration of Snow Geese, so we took a day to venture up there. It was quite a cold breezy day, so it was a short trip but worth the outdoors adventures with Patrick (the start of many more wildlife adventures for the little guy).

Ok--I got this started and dropped off for a while.....let's just say getting back to work and being a full time mom cut into my "blog" time. Anyway-I'm back and will try to get caught up and be dedicated to keep updated pics and stories of the Rath clan. Above is a look from Patrick saying....."what's up momma". It's one of my favs and was taken at a little over two months. Below is a pic of Patrick and his buddies.....
